(Thysanoptera)(Lilium martagon) or the European Cornel (Cornus mas). Protected insects can also be found, such as the Great Capricorn beetle (Cerambyx cerdo), the European rhinoceros beetle (Oryctes nasicornis) or the species from the family of the stag beetle (Lucanus cervus). Also to be found are the rare Aesculapian snake (Elaphe longissima) and the hoopoe bird (Upupa epops). Among protected mammals in the forest are: the fat dormouse (Glis glis) and the pygmy bat or common pipistrelle (Pipistrellus pipstrellus)(Vincetoxicum hirundinaria), the lungwort (Pulmonaria officinalis) or the black elder (Sambucus nigra). The forest is also richly abundant in mushrooms, especially in high summer and the autumn. The ceps and edible parasol mushrooms are particularly popular.
